Mr. Gas Limited, a long-standing independent gasoline retailer in Ottawa with 22 locations, wanted to better compete against larger chain gas stations. To stand out, the company needed to increase fuel purchase volumes, drive repeat visits, raise spend per visit, collect customer data, and offer value-added incentives. Mr. Gas Limited turned to Ackroo for a gift card and loyalty solution integrated with its Infonet point of sale system.
Ackroo implemented a branded, web-based gift card and loyalty platform with real-time reporting, promotion-building tools, transaction management, and analytics dashboards. The program delivered strong results: 119,610 loyalty cards were in circulation in 2018, with 22,508 registered members and 9,166 new enrollments. Loyalty members spent $42.19 on average versus $28.53 for non-members, visited 25% more than before launch, and accounted for 17.5% of all sales transactions, while gift card sales rose 12% year over year.
