University of Hertfordshire - Customer Case Study

The University of Hertfordshire, a UK public university with over 25,000 students, faced chronic peaks of footfall in its Student Centre that led to long queues, frustrated students and pressured staff. To automate and modernise how students join queues and book services, the University engaged ACF Technologies to deliver a Student Flow Management solution based on the Q‑Flow platform, deployed at self‑serve kiosks and on eight PCs outside the centre.

ACF Technologies implemented a locally hosted Q‑Flow system with an API-driven booking webpage, a free‑standing kiosk, digital signage and web-based staff and management interfaces so students receive unique ticket numbers, live wait-time updates and both appointment and walk‑in handling. The rollout gave managers real-time queue visibility and reporting, reduced actual and perceived wait times, improved staff efficiency and engagement, and is supported and evolved through ACF Technologies’ ongoing support model.
