The New Zealand Fire Service (NZFS) is a technologically advanced fire service with around 62,000 callouts a year, nearly 500 stations, and more than 9,000 career and volunteer firefighters. Before implementing Acendre Recruitment, NZFS relied on manual hiring processes that were slow, disorganised, error-prone, and made it difficult to track hiring costs, talent, and candidate communications, weakening its employer brand.

Acendre implemented Acendre Recruitment, including its Activity Scheduler module, to streamline NZFS’s recruitment process and improve the candidate experience. The results were significant: NZFS reduced errors, improved scheduling and communications, and made interviews much easier to coordinate. Most notably, a process that previously took two weeks was completed in just two hours, with 108 interviews scheduled across 18 days and 10 locations.
