The Bureau of Meteorology, Australia’s national weather, climate and water agency, needed a faster way to attract, hire, and onboard temporary workers with a wide range of technical skills. Its existing process for approvals, advertising, shortlisting, and interviews was slow and time-consuming, and managers and HR often struggled to find qualified candidates quickly. The bureau turned to Acendre and its recruitment solution to create a more effective talent register for temporary employees.

Acendre worked with the Bureau of Meteorology to build and launch a new Talent Register using Acendre Recruitment and its Talent Warehouse capability. The system was up and running in just a few months and quickly delivered strong results: about 300 candidates applied in the first two weeks, with better-qualified applicants than before and overwhelmingly positive feedback from managers and applicants. The new search and keyword features helped HR and hiring managers find candidates by skill or location in days instead of months, significantly improving both hiring speed and candidate quality.
