The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) needed a better way to manage high-volume recruitment across a large public sector workforce, replacing a paper-based process that was slow, hard to track, and limited visibility into costs and hiring metrics. With around 18,500 permanent employees and thousands of applicants for graduate and entry-level roles each year, the ATO turned to Acendre Recruitment to improve efficiency, transparency, and the candidate and hiring manager experience.
Acendre worked with the ATO to implement an integrated recruitment platform that automated hiring, onboarding, and offboarding workflows, including online pre-engagement tasks such as security clearances, police checks, tax and bank details, declarations, and offer acceptance. The solution helped the ATO screen duplicate candidates once for multiple roles, reduce administrative burden, and support a large-scale redundancy program, while delivering stronger analytics and greater control. According to the ATO, the program achieved highly successful outcomes with minimal disruption and delivered a strong return on investment.
