A AccuRev Case Study
SanDisk, with 150 firmware, software and ASIC engineers distributed across California, Scotland and Israel supporting 55 products, was struggling to keep up with fast-changing, divergent product requirements. Their open-source version control (CVS) became a bottleneck, prompting the team to look for a more flexible, scalable SCM solution.
They adopted AccuRev’s stream-based architecture, which provides a time-aware, hierarchical view of code, enables concurrent development without code freezes, and allows quick drag-and-drop reconfiguration of streams. The change reduced administrative overhead (one admin spends about half time on AccuRev), put stream management in engineers’ hands, and delivered greater flexibility, efficiency and faster response to product issues.
