McAfee web service team saves US$500,000 per year by adopting Micro Focus® AccuRev for Agile processes

McAfee’s Web Services team, responsible for its SaaS and eCommerce platforms, was struggling with Microsoft Visual SourceSafe as it scaled to more than 300 releases per quarter and over 200 distributed developers. Frequent file merges, limited parallel development (only 10–12 projects at a time), poor visibility for offshore contributors, and the move to Scrum-like iterative releases made a process-centric SCCM solution essential.

By adopting Micro Focus AccuRev and integrating it with their build tools, McAfee moved to a stream-based workflow that supports more than 30 concurrent releases, improved offshore visibility, and simplified branching and merging. The change saved at least a day of merges on small projects (and more on larger ones), enabled Agile processes, reduced redundant steps, improved time-to-market, and delivered roughly US$500,000 in annual savings.
