A AccuRev Case Study
DriveCam, a San Diego–based provider of in-vehicle video event recorders and fleet safety services with global operations, needed a single, scalable SCM as its development expanded to Linux-based firmware, Windows .NET front ends, offshore teams and multiple concurrent product lines (including the TeenSafe consumer offering). The company had hit the limits of Microsoft Visual SourceSafe and required better support for multiplatform development, parallel code lines and tighter collaboration with outsourced teams.
DriveCam selected Micro Focus AccuRev for its stream-based model, cross‑platform support and Visual Studio integration. Using AccuRev (and AccuReplica) enabled fast offshore repository setup, enforced code-review workflows, simplified parallel development and customer-specific branches, increased developer productivity, sped builds and testing, and created new business opportunities while improving visibility and code quality.
