Ascade, a fast-growing European telecom software leader whose Carrier Cockpit Suite automates wholesale voice trading, faced scalability and process challenges as its development team expanded. Its original file-based SCM tool offered poor traceability and struggled with parallel development, multiple product versions, rapid customer-driven customizations and the need for a repeatable, low-risk development process.

Ascade adopted AccuRev and a task-based, iterative process (blending RUP and Agile practices) to manage work in Streams using the Promote model, backed by automated testing and integrated change management. The change delivered flexible, parallel development with low administrative overhead, strong reproducibility and data consistency, and clear traceability from issues to code—improving productivity, release predictability and overall software quality.
