A Accufund Case Study
The Easton Volunteer Fire Department (EVFD) is a 120-member nonprofit serving about 13,000 residents in Easton, MD. Their administrator was creating purchase orders and extracting spending data manually while auditors demanded more detailed, professional financial reports—tasks made harder by an obsolete accounting system and limited volunteer time. EVFD needed easy-to-use, integrated software that could track departmental budgets and PO activity and produce audit-ready statements.
EVFD installed the AccuFund Accounting Suite in April 2003, gaining integrated AP/AR/PO/GL functionality, a flexible report writer, and customizable forms. The system centralized data entry (enter once, use everywhere), sped invoice processing (cut weekly bill processing from six hours to two), improved audit readiness and 1099 reporting, and received strong user approval for ease of use and cost-effectiveness.
