A Accufund Case Study
The Shoshone-Paiute Tribes of Duck Valley, a remote reservation of about 1,200 residents with roughly 200 employees running services from a hospital to water and land management, struggled with largely manual record-keeping and an unreliable legacy accounting package. Frequent power outages and poor vendor support left staff unsure which transactions had posted and forced them to spend excessive time on routine AP, AR, payroll and billing tasks.
In January 2004 the tribe implemented the AccuFund Accounting Suite, selecting only the modules it needed (AP, AR, Cash Receipts, Payroll, HR, Purchasing/Inventory, Utility Billing, GL) to automate processes and ensure transactions post completely even during outages. The system halved payroll entry time, sped payment application, improved HR and billing accuracy (including hospital RPMS integration), reduced support calls and costs, and earned strong positive feedback from users for its ease and reliability.
