Mt. Lebanon, a 30,000+ resident township in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, discovered its legacy AS/400 ERP could not support planned expansion or modern workflows. Finance Director Andrew McCreery sought a cost-effective replacement that would retain existing functionality while adding automation, document scanning and customizable, PDF-ready reporting for all departments.
The township implemented the AccuFund Accounting Suite with local partner EMK, rolling it out to 40 users and providing an Employee Portal for 400 staff. AccuFund’s ease of use and drill-down reporting let departments run their own reports, cut manual payroll and AP processing time (saving roughly half a day on payroll and weekly AP tasks), reduced year‑end entries from about 500 to under 100, saved the AP admin ~20 hours/year and the assistant ~2 hours/month, and substantially improved overall efficiency and self-sufficiency.
