The Friends of the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad is a nonprofit that supports and preserves a 64‑mile historic steam railroad and serves about 2,500 members and donors. They struggled with an off‑the‑shelf accounting package that couldn’t handle fund accounting, multiple funds supporting single projects, split gifts, or fast membership and program reporting—forcing manual Excel work and lengthy monthly reporting from just two data‑entry staff.
FCTSRR implemented the AccuFund Accounting Suite and a customized Salesforce CRM with the AccuFund Connector to centralize donor and membership data, allocate split gifts, and sync transactions. The result: on‑demand fund and project reports, streamlined membership renewals, elimination of double entry, faster reconciliations, and what the bookkeeper called the easiest audit in 16 years—delivering significant time and accuracy gains.
