Central Lyon County Fire Protection District (CLCFD), a full-service fire district in Nevada serving about 25,000 residents across 600+ square miles with 7 stations and 65 personnel, needed a new accounting solution after Lyon County announced it would start billing the district for county-managed accounting. Using an IBM AS400 with county-hosted access, the district solicited bids and selected AccuFund for its easier usability and willingness to provide on-site training.
CLCFD implemented the AccuFund Accounting Suite to automate payroll and replace paper timecards, handling their complex shift system smoothly and eliminating duplicate accounting work. Within four weeks they saw substantial time savings, faster error detection (including an overpaid vendor), clearer customizable reports, and ongoing support that will allow them to further streamline payroll and other accounting processes.
