Sports Equipment Retailer, a national sporting goods chain, faced a major IT integration challenge after acquiring a competitor in 2003. The company needed to merge two very different retail systems, migrate a proprietary POS network into about 200 new stores, and upgrade its wireless architecture quickly before the holiday season. It turned to Accucode for wireless POS and network integration services.

Accucode staged, configured, and deployed more than 3,000 pieces of equipment across 383 stores, including 1,000 handhelds and nearly 1,000 wireless access points, while also moving old WANs to new servers and improving the retailer’s mainframe-based POS connectivity with terminal emulation software. The six-week rollout was completed without shutting stores down, helping the retailer modernize its national wireless infrastructure and business processes on a tight timeline.
