Rainbow Book Company, a distributor of Pre-K through high-school library books with about 34 sales reps and $6.2–$7M in annual revenue, had outgrown QuickBooks: the system was limited to 25,000 products while their catalogue approached 250,000 items and a bloated data file was slowing operations. To solve this, they implemented Acctivate (Acctivate for QuickBooks) and related modules such as Mobile Inventory Receiving and the Shipping Workstation Interface.
Acctivate enabled real-time order entry for all 34 reps, eliminated paper double-entry, and supported their full 250,000‑item inventory while keeping QuickBooks for financials. The vendor’s solution cut PO receiving time by about half, streamlined shipping of 50–100 boxes per day, improved kitting, credit management and customer service tracking, and provided the reporting and forecasting Rainbow Book Company needed to continue growing.
