Equator Coffee Roasters, an organic, fair-trade coffee roaster in Canada, needed a more accurate inventory system to track roasted coffee from bag back to the farm and to record roasting in real time. Acctivate deployed its batch process manufacturing (bill of materials), lot and serial number (track-and-trace), and kitting features so Equator can enter roast output weights, calculate blend proportions, convert bulk coffee to packaged kits, and remove items from inventory by weight and bags. The result is improved inventory accuracy and real-time production recording, full lot traceability for recalls (so they “would know exactly which coffee it was”), and automated inventory adjustments that support fast fulfillment and consistent product freshness.
