DataRay, a designer and manufacturer of laser beam analysis equipment, had outgrown manual Excel-based inventory and order processes as it expanded into a global business with offices across multiple time zones. They needed an affordable, easy-to-access system that could integrate with QuickBooks and handle manufacturing, inventory, sales and tax complexity. DataRay selected Acctivate (inventory and business management software) to meet those needs.
Acctivate was implemented to centralize quotes, sales orders, purchase orders, inventory, serial-number tracking, variable-build manufacturing, shipping and RMA workflows, and to integrate Avalara AvaTax for sales tax. As a result DataRay moved from spreadsheets to real-time inventory tracking, improved traceability and forecasting, sped up order fulfillment (often shipping same day when stock is available), streamlined RMAs and better supported overseas distributors — and saved “probably at least a couple of hours a month” on sales tax handling thanks to Acctivate’s integrations.
