Case Study: Total SA achieves a single source of asset information and €3M/year savings with Accruent Meridian

A Accruent Case Study

Preview of the Total SA Case Study

How Total Olefins Antwerp selected a solution to automate and streamline the change management process to optimize, improve, and save

Total Olefins Antwerp, part of Total SA’s Refining & Chemicals segment in Belgium, produces base petrochemicals such as ethylene and propylene. The plant needed to automate and streamline a manual, paper-based engineering change management process: documents were stored in an unsupported system with limited workflows, there was no direct relationship between assets and engineering information, and Maintenance & Operations only had hard-copy access to drawings.

The site implemented Accruent Meridian as a single source of asset information, migrating legacy databases to more than 300,000 documents and 150,000 objects and linking documents to SAP PM with out-of-the-box integrations to CAD and Microsoft Office. Managed centrally from Brussels, the solution enables 120 employees to follow formal change procedures (with 600 read-only users), improves quality and availability of asset information, secures external access, and cuts document exchange costs by about €3 million per year.
