Case Study: The New York Times achieves optimized plant resources and automated preventative maintenance with Accruent's Maintenance Connection

A Accruent Case Study

Preview of the The New York Times Case Study

How the publishing plant easily organized all assets and implemented a preventive maintenance schedule to service equipment before it breaks

The New York Times, a global news organization with 64 print sites and a College Point plant housing about 10,000 assets, faced challenges keeping tight control of equipment health and maintenance across a large, distributed workforce. Lack of critical asset visibility, reliance on cycle-based counts, and poor reporting made it hard to schedule preventive work and risked costly delivery delays.

The paper implemented Accruent’s Maintenance Connection CMMS plant-wide, importing assets, automating preventative maintenance based on equipment usage and cycle counts, and improving communications and inventory planning. The result was immediate: accurate time and asset records, fewer emergency repairs and labor savings, better resource reporting, and increased confidence in equipment reliability to meet customer demand.
