WestSide Corporation, an oil and gas producer operating in Australia and New Zealand, struggled with fragmented engineering documentation—over 220,000 files in multiple copies, inconsistent drawing registers, and long travel times to remote sites. This made it hard for staff to find the latest drawings, increasing safety risk, rework and inefficiency.

WestSide deployed Accruent’s RedEye cloud-based drawing and document management to consolidate some 53,000 critical artifacts, clean up duplicates, add metadata, implement workflows and provide mobile and 3D access for ~200 users. The single source of truth cut search time from hours to seconds and delivered an estimated 16% annual reduction in engineering costs, 12.5% savings in engineering time, plus additional gains from avoiding document recreation and reduced site travel.
