New Engineering Srl, a Trento-based engineering firm founded in 2002 and an early adopter of BIM, was contracted to deliver the Nuova Clinica for Ospedale di Bolzano — a complex, multi-level hospital project with surgery, ICU, emergency, logistics and automated transport systems and a planned investment of about €610 million. With construction running through 2035–2037 and subject to evolving regulations, the firm needed a flexible, scalable document-management solution to handle massive, changing datasets and dozens of equipment tenders.
They implemented Meridian EDMS, supported by One Team, to create a centralized digital archive, enable real-time collaboration across designers, construction managers and safety coordinators, and apply customizable workflows and metadata scripts. Meridian’s robust filtering and configuration handled over 300,000 documents and 1,000+ works, streamlined digitization and historical archiving back to 1999, and accelerated project delivery through greater organization and agility.
