Duke University, a leading private research university in Durham, North Carolina, was struggling with siloed scheduling processes and inconsistent room and building naming across systems, which hurt reporting and coordination. The university initially used Accruent EMS Professional, then upgraded to EMS Enterprise, but still needed a campus-wide solution to support more departments and reduce lost functionality.
Accruent implemented EMS Campus to unify scheduling across Duke University, enabling hoteling, room and resource booking, event management, and service coordination for teams like athletics, biology, engineering, and the business and nursing schools. The result was better standardization and automation of records, improved scheduling and reporting, and broader integration with tools such as PeopleSoft, Outlook, Zoom, and Teams, with further expansion planned through the Direct Spaces mobile app.
