A Accruent Case Study
Royal Boskalis Westminster NV, a Netherlands‑based leader in dredging and maritime infrastructure with a fleet of more than 900 vessels operating in 75+ countries across six continents, launched a fleet expansion program and needed robust project management and document-control systems. The company also faced significant staff turnover and retirements that threatened loss of institutional engineering knowledge, creating an urgent need to capture, retain and share technical information globally.
Boskalis implemented Accruent Meridian Engineering Information Management, integrated with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and SharePoint, to provide a role‑based, consolidated as‑built and controlled project environment with automated PDF rendering and SharePoint publication. The firm migrated roughly 495,000 documents and drawings (110,000 mechanical, 85,000 electrical and 300,000+ others) to a centrally managed repository in Papendrecht with global SharePoint access; after short training, teams worldwide gained a single source of engineering truth that streamlined project control, management of change and reduced transmittal costs.
