A Accruent Case Study
Louisiana State University (LSU), a large public research university managing over 15 million square feet across 500+ buildings and 39,000+ students, faced fragmented, outdated space data after its legacy enterprise system was slated for retirement. Departments adopted replacement tools in an ad hoc way, leaving the Planning, Design & Construction (PDC) office to maintain dual systems and struggle with inaccurate, static information and outdated drawings — prompting a 2022 decision to make FAMIS 360 the university’s system of record.
LSU partnered with Accruent, ACAD‑Plus, and AppTree to clean and standardize CAD drawings and space data, integrate those assets into FAMIS 360, and train staff on tools like Bulk Uploader, Space Survey, and Analytics. Phase one (completed June 2024) linked record floor plans and live drawings to centralized space data; ongoing work will phase out legacy ties and enable audits, improved reporting for funding and research space planning, and future use of Analytics and Space Survey for more accurate, real‑time insights.
