Aurora Energy, a power distribution company in New Zealand, needed a better way to manage decades of legacy electrical drawings spread across multiple formats, locations, and offices. Before working with Accruent and its RedEye drawing management solution, the team faced inconsistent naming, weak version control, and no single source of truth for about 21,000 drawings.

Accruent implemented RedEye as a centralized repository for Aurora Energy, streamlined workflows, and added visualized metadata and a standardized numbering system across 40 substations. The result was stronger version control and accountability, improved navigation and collaboration, reduced errors, and faster access to accurate drawings, with QR codes helping ensure field teams used the correct version.
