Devices for Students Goes Back to School with Accounting Seed

Devices for Students is a nonprofit coalition of educators, tech employees, nonprofits, and local businesses working to provide laptops and WiFi access to students who need them most. As donations and inquiries grew, the small team was relying heavily on spreadsheets and needed a better way to track donors, finances, and inventory. Devices for Students turned to Accounting Seed, with implementation support from UMANA Strategies, to replace its manual processes.

Accounting Seed donated its accounting platform and helped Devices for Students set up a system from the ground up in about a month. With Accounting Seed, the nonprofit can now manage finances, inventory, and donations on one platform, making it easier for its four-person team to collaborate and fund other nonprofits. The result was a more organized operation that let Devices for Students “act bigger than we are” and better support its mission.
