The AA — a motoring services provider with 14 million members — faced the challenge of reliably processing millions of monthly direct debits and weekly/monthly payroll for 7,300 staff after their incumbent payments supplier was withdrawn. They needed a fast replacement that would integrate with existing systems (SAP for payments and Tiara for Direct Debits) and avoid any interruption to member services and incoming revenue. AccessPay was chosen to provide a cloud-based, file-agnostic Bacs submission platform.

AccessPay configured and rapidly deployed its platform to connect the AA to two banks and integrate with their back-office systems, ensuring payroll and millions of direct debits continued without downtime. The solution automates Bacs reporting into the AA’s ERP for easier reconciliation, adds a clear dashboard and submission confirmations, and is now being extended to support Faster Payments for one-off claims — helping keep 7,300 staff paid on time and protecting revenue across the AA’s 14 million-member base.
