Cutting a 300-step Weekly Payment Process Down to 10 With Places for People

Places for People, a large UK property management, leisure and development group, faced an outdated finance setup that couldn’t cope with growth and more than 60,000 monthly Bacs transactions. The organisation needed to replace manual, paper-based approvals and simplify a weekly payment process that involved 30 separate runs and a 300-step workflow. To address this, Places for People moved to AccessPay’s cloud-based Bacs Bureau solution.

AccessPay implemented a fully integrated platform with system-based approvals, Bacs Approved Bureau capability and functionality to run and schedule a single payment across multiple subsidiaries. The change cut the 300-step weekly process down to 10 steps, consolidated 30 weekly payment runs into one, removed paper sign-off, improved remote access and materially reduced time and labour for the accounts payable team. AccessPay’s solution therefore delivered clear efficiency gains and scalability for Places for People.
