Powering Flexible In-House Ticketing with Mount Washington Cog Railway

Mount Washington Cog Railway, a historic mountain railway in New Hampshire, needed a flexible ticketing system that could handle real-time seat changes, seasonal operations, and weather-related adjustments. In 2019, it partnered with Accesso and implemented the accesso ShoWare box office ticketing solution to support its unique in-house ticketing needs.

Accesso ShoWare gave the railway’s team the ability to manage schedules, move passengers between trains, adjust pricing, and track online sales data without outside support. The results included an 84% reduction in box office training time, 29% growth in online channel sales, and about 10,000 exchanges processed each season, while also helping the railway adapt quickly during COVID-19 with automated distancing controls.
