WDS Component Parts Ltd, a Leeds-based manufacturer and distributor offering next-day delivery on over 14,000 parts, needed a modern MRP/manufacturing system to replace an inflexible Cimpac platform and to integrate planning, stock control and CRM. After evaluating suppliers, WDS selected Access Group and its Access Supply Chain (ASC) solution—integrated with GoldMine CRM and Preactor—to support re-order level MRP, graphical production planning and improved cross-business visibility.

Access Group implemented ASC along with workflow, reporting and TaskCentre integrations and provided onsite consultancy to embed the new processes. As a result WDS now fills 97% of orders from stock while operating with about 12% less gross inventory, cut overdue works orders by 40% in six months, ships 99% of available orders same day, produces month‑end financials on day 1 (vs day 10), eliminated a costly weekend stocktake (saving ~£3,000) and recaptured significant daily productivity (e.g., 2.5 hours/day saved on drawing handling and ~5 minutes saved per quote).
