Case Study: Urban Recruitment achieves aged debt under 2% and an 80% cut in overtime with Access Group's Access Pay and Bill

A Access Group Case Study

Preview of the Urban Recruitment Case Study

Urban Recruitment Group reduces aged debt to under 2% and cuts overtime by 80%

Urban Recruitment, a £55m-turnover healthcare recruitment business (Medicspro) with 150 staff, was struggling with fragmented front-office, payroll and general ledger systems after NHS “Monitor” rate caps and IR35 changes. The result was payment and invoicing errors, rising 90-day debt, unreliable management information and heavy staff overtime. To address this, they turned to Access Group and its recruitment tools, notably Access Pay and Bill (with Safe Financials Credit Control), to consolidate payroll, invoicing, credit control and reporting.

Access Group implemented Access Pay and Bill as a single platform with real-time payroll dashboards and BI, streamlining payments, invoices and credit control. The outcome: 90-day aged debt fell from £1m (15% of the ledger) to £100k (under 2%), DSO improved from 48 to 30 days, overtime was cut by 80%, debt write-offs became negligible, and payroll accuracy and reporting timeliness significantly improved—delivering clear cashflow and productivity gains.
