The Competition & Markets Authority Remain Efficient in Lockdown with Remote Working

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), the UK’s competition regulator, needed a powerful, secure, browser‑based case management system to handle complex investigations and tens of thousands of documents while enabling remote working during the COVID‑19 lockdown. They selected Access Group’s Access Legal case management solution (Spitfire) for its web access and high security standards.

Access Group delivered the Access Legal/Spitfire system in a ten‑week rollout and met the 27 May 2020 go‑live target, using virtual classrooms for training and providing integrations with Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, court bundling and a mobile app. The deployment gave the CMA secure (CHECK and ISO 27001 accredited) remote working, rapid document storage and recall of large case files, and measurable efficiency gains in managing high‑volume litigation.
