Managing A Quarter Of A Million Feet Of Dedicated Warehouse Space

Palletways, a palletised freight network operating a national hub and around 100 depots, needed to scale and modernise its consignment stockholding to allow manufacturers and retailers to place late orders for guaranteed next‑day delivery. To manage roughly a quarter of a million square feet of dedicated warehousing and support multi‑site European expansion, Palletways selected Access Group’s Access Delta warehouse management system for real‑time inventory control, RF scanning and web‑based customer access.

Access Group implemented Access Delta with RF barcode readers, graphical warehouse mapping, integration to Palletways’ distribution systems and browser-based portals for customers. The solution routes every job and supports multi‑site operations (UK and European hubs), giving full track‑and‑trace and remote stock visibility; it enabled customers to order as late as 7–8pm for guaranteed next‑day delivery by 10am, helped process up to 30,000 pallets in 24 hours and supported Palletways’ rapid growth in dedicated storage and service capability.
