Toppesfield, the UK’s largest independent surfacing company, faced rapid growth that outpaced its back-office systems: no centralised storage for financial information, poor visibility of expenses across national sites, and manual, time-consuming processes for approvals and reporting. After a competitive tender, Toppesfield selected Access Group’s finance/ERP solution (Access FMS and related modules) to address these challenges.
Access Group implemented a phased rollout of its core ERP and modules—including document management, the Workflow Form module, CIS, and online expenses/credit-card approvals—streamlining approvals and linking approvals to remittance and banking. The result was improved cost control and credit-management visibility, roughly halving purchase-to-pay time, cutting at least a day off management-account production, removing much manual processing, and freeing finance staff to focus on higher-value work.
