Hammond Expanders - Customer Case Study

Hammond Expanders, the UK arm of the world’s largest manufacturer of negative expanders (150 employees, £60m turnover), needed to replace an 18‑year‑old legacy system that lacked purchase order processing, strong integration between manufacturing and finance, and modern reporting and production/distribution planning. After evaluating alternatives, Hammond selected Access Group’s Access Supply Chain to provide a single, easy‑to‑use platform that would meet its accounting, manufacturing and stock control needs.

Access Group implemented Access Supply Chain, configuring modules including core ledgers, sales and purchase order processing, works orders, stock/location & lot control, job costing, MRPII and time recording to fit Hammond’s workflows. Using Access’s implementation methodology the consultant team piloted the system and achieved go‑live within two to three days of data transfer. The result was fully integrated manufacturing and financial ledgers, elimination of re‑keying, faster access to higher‑quality data, much better reporting and measurable improvements in efficiency and performance — all delivered within budget and supporting Hammond Expanders’ ongoing growth.
