George Green’s School, a local authority maintained secondary school and sixth form in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, was hampered by slow, manual and error-prone finance processes that limited analysis and forecasting. To tackle this, Head of Finance David Roome implemented Access Group’s Access Finance and Budgeting software (part of the Access Education suite) in October 2019.

By deploying the Access Group solution the school eliminated cumbersome Excel uploads and streamlined workflows, saving hours of staff time, enabling longer-term budgets to be prepared in minutes and supporting real-time salary calculations and scenario planning in meetings. The system also empowered non-finance staff to self-serve budget information, improved forecasting and reporting, and transformed day-to-day finance operations across the school.
