A Access Group Case Study
Parasol Group needed to replace a bespoke back-end system (previously using Sage Line 50 and Access Payroll) to support rapid growth while keeping back-office headcount low and integrating with its website before the 2006 tax year-end. After a site visit and evaluation, Parasol selected Access Group to deliver an off‑the‑shelf, integrated finance and payroll solution using GoldMine CRM, Access Financials/Dimensions, the SQL-based SelectPay payroll, Access TaskCentre and Crystal Reports (with later additions of SelectHR).
Access Group implemented the integrated stack, automating timesheet import, invoicing, reconciliation and payroll so double data handling was eliminated and processing sped up. SelectPay now runs automatically (scheduled at 07:30), processes payroll for over 8,200 flexible employees (about 4,000 individual payroll calculations per week), and can handle in excess of £1M gross pay in a run. The result: faster reporting, improved cash and debtor control, reduced admin and headcount requirements, and ongoing support/training from Access Group.
