Durbin PLC is a specialist medical supplier with over 45 years’ experience and 20,000 products, exporting pharmaceuticals, equipment and consumables to 180 countries. Facing strict UK export and 150+ country import regulations (MHRA/WHO), tight expiry-date control, complex order processing and multi-currency trading — all while aiming to grow annual turnover to £20m — Durbin selected the Access Group’s Access Supply Chain solution after reviewing the market for a more flexible alternative to Sage.

The Access Group implemented Access Supply Chain (core ledgers, sales/purchase orders, stock control, location & lot control) and provided implementation support and custom data utilities. The solution delivered integrated front‑end distribution and back‑office financials, true multi‑currency processing, single-entry data flow, SQL Server reporting and reliable expiry tracking. According to Durbin, the system gives “an accurate view of our stocks and monitor their expiry dates,” and supported their growth goals — Durbin now reports a £26m turnover while benefiting from fewer errors, faster order processing and improved compliance.
