Barts Charity was working with a bespoke, flat accounting system that couldn’t report by division, department or fund type, forcing staff to assemble bulky, manual reports and delaying crucial grant, fund and investment oversight. Seeking better SORP-compliant reporting and grant-level monitoring, the charity selected Access Group’s solutions, choosing Access Financials (Dimensions) with the Costing module and later adding TaskCentre.
Access Group implemented Access Financials/Dimensions and TaskCentre, working closely with the charity’s team to go live on time and under budget. The new system enabled instant data extraction, supported monthly SORP checks and reconciliations, and allowed reporting by property and fund; produced information volumes rose 150% even with a 25% increase in staff. Automation via TaskCentre reduced reporting on 500 restricted accounts from five hours to two, and year-end reporting and auditor feedback markedly improved.
