A Access Group Case Study
The Bakers Food and Allied Workers Union (BFAWU), a 25,000+ member independent food workers union, needed to replace an unsupported, outdated and fragmented IT and communications setup across seven regions, seventeen districts and more than 200 branches. Data entry was duplicated and cumbersome and the union required a simple, member-focused Membership Management and Benefits Processing system. After a detailed selection process BFAWU chose thankQ from Access Group to realise its vision for better engagement.
Access Group implemented thankQ’s Membership module with a streamlined data-entry form, de-duplication, Direct Debit processing and multi-language automated letters, plus a bespoke Benefits Processing function (built-in benefit-rule calculations and remote cheque printing via VPN). A bespoke thankQ website lets Branch Secretaries mirror regional data entry and view benefits/claims feedback (and now a Legal Representation form), dramatically reducing routine administration, saving staff time, improving member service and engagement across BFAWU’s 25,000+ membership and freeing Regional Clerks to focus on core union business.
