A Access Group Case Study
itmsoil, a global leader in geotechnical and structural instrumentation, needed a single IT backbone to manage multiple trading companies, cut excess stock, automate timesheets and eProcurement, and cope with rapid growth across sites in the UK, Europe, US and Australia. The company has been a long‑term user of Access SupplyChain (implemented in 2004) and was facing high free stock levels, manual paper processes and the need for better reporting and credit controls.
Access Group upgraded itmsoil to the latest Access SupplyChain and began rolling out Access FocalPoint for web‑based user access, automated timesheets and eProcurement. As a result, itmsoil reduced free stock value from £1.5m to £1.0m in two years, used system reporting to consolidate purchases and secure bulk discounts, implemented automatic credit‑limit holds to reduce bad‑debt risk, coped with a doubling of turnover, and expects to save £10–15k/year from automated timesheets.
