Takeda, a global pharmaceutical company, faced a complex and manual challenge in optimizing its blood plasma logistics. Their process relied on tedious MS Excel spreadsheets, making it difficult to determine the optimum shipping and inventory plans while accounting for numerous collection constraints. They partnered with the vendor Accelytics to address this challenge using the Anaplan platform.

Accelytics implemented an Anaplan model to automate Takeda's distribution process. This solution forecasts collections, creates shipping plans, and provides optimized suggestions for managing constraints. The new model made the planning process three times faster, significantly improving efficiency and providing greater visibility. Accelytics is now working with Takeda to deploy similar models across their global network.
