Arconic, a global manufacturer of aluminum products, faced a challenge standardizing capacity planning across its many international plants. Their non-standardized, spreadsheet-based processes made it difficult to deploy best practices and create a unified view for finance. They partnered with vendor Accelytics to implement a solution using the Anaplan supply chain planning platform.

Accelytics built a centralized Anaplan model to generate a consensus forecast and optimize machine utilization across all factories. The solution included robust scenario modeling and an optimizer to level production plans for maximum revenue. As a result, Arconic standardized best practices, optimized asset utilization to increase revenue, and provided finance with a detailed, accurate corporate view, leading to a planned global rollout of the system.
