Case Study: Gentec International achieves 99% order accuracy and faster warehouse fulfillment with Accellos

Importing and distributing brand name optical, photographic imaging, digital imaging, wireless telecom and electronic accessory products

Gentec International, a Toronto-based importer and distributor of optical, photographic, digital imaging, wireless telecom, and electronic accessory products, needed a way to keep warehouse operations efficient as sales and order volumes grew. With a 57,000-square-foot facility and a commitment to ship orders within 24 to 48 hours, Gentec turned to AccellosOne Warehouse Management System (WMS) to improve accuracy, speed, and inventory control.

Accellos implemented AccellosOne WMS and the Accellos Demand Forecasting Module, integrating with Gentec’s ERP and shipping systems to automate receiving, picking, labeling, shipping, and replenishment. The result was greater than 99.5% accuracy, a 98% fill rate, inventory discrepancy rates below 0.1%, and the ability for four pickers to process 200 orders and about 2,000 lines per day, while eliminating two full-time accuracy-check positions.
