Showtime Networks sought to enhance the premium user experience of its SHOWTIME and SHOWTIME ANYTIME apps on the Roku platform by rebuilding them using Roku's SceneGraph SDK. To achieve this goal, Showtime retained the vendor Accedo for its specialized expertise in developing for the challenging Roku ecosystem.
Accedo rebuilt the BrightScript applications using an agile scrum team, implementing a new fluid design with stylish animations and adding new features like series autoplay. The vendor also employed Roku QA Automation to drastically speed up the testing process by simultaneously testing across five devices. As a result, Accedo delivered a premium experience for SHOWTIME customers on Roku, which included improved QA feedback time and the successful launch of the updated apps in Q1 2018.
