New York-based Investment Firm protects $20 billion in assets with Acalvio

A New York-based investment firm managing over $20 billion in assets faced insufficient internal threat detection controls, especially concerning reconnaissance, lateral movement, data exfiltration, and ransomware. With a limited security team and an outsourced SOC that had previously failed to act on alerts, the firm selected Acalvio and its ShadowPlex deception technology to address this challenge.

Acalvio deployed ShadowPlex with a multifaceted mix of server and endpoint decoys and breadcrumbs, which was integrated with CrowdStrike Falcon for automation. The solution provided high-fidelity detection, successfully identifying a penetration test that the SOC had missed. As a result, the firm is expanding the deployment into its Azure Cloud environment and plans to use Acalvio ShadowPlex for future threat hunting hypothesis testing.
