A Fortune 500 consumer packaged goods company with a worldwide footprint and more than 100,000 staff was modernizing its hybrid cloud environment while trying to strengthen defense in depth, threat hunting, and threat mitigation. The security team also needed better Active Directory risk management and more flexible threat detection across a complex mix of on-prem and Azure workloads. Acalvio Technologies deployed ShadowPlex across 100+ VLANs spanning cloud and on-prem environments, integrating it with Active Directory, SIEM, and EDR tools. The solution helped detect malicious activity including coin-mining malware and penetration attempts, exposed Active Directory misconfiguration risks, and improved threat hunting through deception artifacts, memory snapshot analysis, and adversary traversal tracking. The security team was able to complete deployment in less than a month with about half an FTE, while also reducing operational burden and improving visibility and response capabilities.
