Planfix, a no-code platform for creating enterprise management systems, faced a challenge engaging new users and improving the conversion rate from trial accounts to paying customers (previously 17–19%). To address this, Planfix partnered with AcademyOcean and used the AcademyOcean corporate training platform to test whether a guided, bite-sized onboarding course would help users get started and adopt the product.

Using AcademyOcean, Planfix created the “Day one with Planfix” course (10 short lessons), set an automated task to assign the course to every new user, and later added manager-focused and acquisition-oriented courses. The AcademyOcean interface made publishing quick, and the approach paid off: trial-to-customer conversion rose from 17–19% to 25% (April 2017), translating into dozens more companies converting each month.
