The University of North Texas, a large university in Denton, TX, managed more than 400 scholarships—including 35 renewable awards for over 5,000 students—using spreadsheets before adopting AcademicWorks. This created time-consuming work for financial aid staff and students, and made it difficult to keep student eligibility and renewal information accurate.

AcademicWorks implemented its renewal management functionality to automatically track renewable awards and import student data nightly, giving staff up-to-date records for renewals, appeals, and probation monitoring. As a result, UNT improved scholarship accuracy, reduced missed opportunities for eligible students, and gave students more flexibility by changing audits from once per term to once a year.
